Adding gift wrap options to your Shopify store is a great way to drive additional revenue.
Here’s how to enable Shopify product gift wrapping option to your existing product pages.
Create a new option set From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > EXPO > click Create option set and you’ll see a new option item.
Name your option set Please try clicking on the three dot icon on the top right corner to see all of the available commands, there we can choose Edit name to give it a specific name such as Gift Wrap Option Set.
Add new option You can add multiple options to the same option set to cater to your product types and customer needs.
Name your gift wrap option Give it a display name on single product page and another name to show in cart page. Here I’m giving the same name which says “Gift Packaging.”
Pick an option type From the dropdown below Option type, you can choose one that fits best with your current product options such as Choice list.
Now think about which kinds of package variants you want to offer to your customers. It could be birthday, Christmas, or other gift wrapping styles for anniversaries.
In this all year round packaging option set, I’m going to show 3 option types:
Elegant packaging
Vintage packaging
Luxury packaging
By clicking Add option value, a new blank option shows up and there you can add its display name, additional cost, and additional description.
When finish adding all the details for the gift wrap options, please save changes and move on to the next tab.
In the Actions tab, you can set other conditions to trigger the action of increasing/decreasing the fee for gift wrap options.
Assuming that I equally charge $5 for each type of gift packaging, here’s how the setup can go.
Extra actions are fully customizable so that you can add flexible pricing for each gift wrapping style/material.
The EXPO app allows you to add the newly created options and actions to a variety of products in bulk. Using built-in filters in the Products tab gets it done in no time.
By choosing specific product vendors/product types from the dropdown, you will see a list of filtered products. Then, you can tick them all and assign them to the current option set.
With EXPO, you can easily put up a simple and advanced set of extra product options including price add-ons and descriptions.
Here’s how the gift wrap options look on the single product page.
Conditionally, you can add another checkbox which shows Hide price on receipt when any of the gift wrap options is selected.
Furthermore, you can also add next personalized options using the conditional logic. That way, when a customer choose a particular gift wrap option, next options such as Greetings card sent to the recipient will show and the customer can input their message to the gift receiver.
